The order of plugins in FL Studio shapes how your vocal reacts at every step. This guide gives you a clear vocal chain to use as a starting point.
In FL Studio everything runs through the Mixer. The right plugin order on the right Mixer track is the foundation of a professional vocal.

Start this chain with EQ. Cut what you don't need.
- Set a High Pass Filter at 80-100 Hz
- Cut resonances between 200-500 Hz
- No boosts in this step
2 Step 2: Compressor (Maximus or third-party)
Compression after EQ for a controlled signal.
- Use Maximus or a third-party compressor
- Ratio: 4:1, attack 10ms, release 60ms
- 4-8 dB gain reduction
3 Step 3: Pitcher (pitch correction)
In this chain, pitch correction comes after compression.
- Add Pitcher after the compressor
- Set the correct key and root note
- Use a medium correction speed

EQ → Compressor → Pitcher → EQ (boost) → Saturation → Send to Reverb/Delay. This order keeps each stage of the vocal chain clear and easy to follow.
4 Step 4: Parametric EQ 2 (boost for presence)
After pitch correction, boost for character and presence.
- Boost around 3-5 kHz for presence
- Boost around 10 kHz for air
- Subtle: 2-3 dB per band
5 Step 5: Saturation + Send to Reverb/Delay
Saturation for warmth, reverb and delay via send tracks.
- Add subtle saturation for warmth
- Create separate send tracks for reverb and delay
- Use Fruity Reeverb 2 or a third-party reverb
