How to Install a Vocal Preset in Logic Pro on Mac

Downloaded a vocal preset for Logic Pro but not sure where to start? First check what kind of file came with it. A channel strip setting and a single-plugin preset are not the same thing, so the instructions included with your download come first.

1. Check the download and your DAW

If the files are inside a ZIP, unpack them. Read the included guide and confirm that you selected the Logic Pro version, not a version for FL Studio. Keep the files together until you know which one the guide tells you to load.

2. Open a vocal audio track

Open Logic Pro on Mac and select the audio track that holds your vocal. A vocal channel strip setting belongs on an audio channel strip, not an instrument track. You can test it in a new project if you do not want to change an existing mix.

3. Follow the file-specific installation guide

Some downloads need to be placed in a particular location before they appear in Logic Pro. Others include a different file or setup. Do not guess a folder based on a random tutorial. Follow the instructions supplied with the preset you bought.

4. Load the setting in Logic Pro

For a channel strip setting, click the Setting button at the top of the selected channel strip and choose the setting. You can also browse settings in the Library. Apple explains both options in its Logic Pro channel strip guide.

5. Play your recording and adjust

Check that you hear the vocal and that nothing is clipping. A preset is a starting point, so adjust levels and effects for your own voice and beat. If the setting does not appear or load, check the file, selected track and plugin requirements before changing your whole project.

Want a ready-made starting point? The Frenna-inspired preset bundle has a Logic Pro option made with built-in Logic plugins and includes an installation guide for the version you choose. Frenna is a Dutch artist. This is an independent style-inspired product, not his actual vocal chain or an official collaboration. Select Logic Pro and check the product details before buying.
