Can You Add a Logic Pro Vocal Preset to an Imported WAV?
Share
Your vocals were recorded somewhere else and sent to you as a WAV file. Can you still use a Logic Pro vocal preset? Yes. You do not have to record the take inside the same Logic project for a track preset to process it.
Start with the audio file
Import the vocal onto its own audio track, separate from the beat. Apple explains that you can drag an audio file onto an existing audio track. Play it back dry first. Check that it starts in the right place and that the recording is not clipping or full of background noise.
Load a preset onto the vocal track
Next, use the channel strip setting supplied with a preset made for Logic Pro. Apple's channel strip guide confirms that audio-channel settings can hold effect routings. Follow the seller's installation instructions for the file you received, then compare the processed and unprocessed take at a similar volume.
A preset responds to the recording you feed it. A different mic, room or performance can change the result, so adjust the levels and effects rather than expecting the demo to match exactly.
If you want a starting point for melodic rap vocals, the Frenna-inspired bundle has a Logic Pro version made with its included plugins and an installation guide. Frenna is a Dutch artist. This is an independent style-inspired preset, not his actual vocal chain or an official collaboration.
