FL Studio Mobile 5: What's New and How to Use It
Share
On October 26, 2026, Image-Line released FL Studio Mobile 5, exactly ten years after FL Studio first landed on phones. The update is on the App Store and Google Play, and it's free for everyone who already owns the app, thanks to Image-Line's Lifetime Free Updates. The two biggest changes: you can now work in portrait mode, and FL Cloud sounds are inside the mobile app for the first time.

What's new in FL Studio Mobile 5?
FL Cloud Sounds in their own tab
The app now has a Sounds tab. Without an account, you get thousands of free FL Cloud Sounds on top of the sounds that were already in the app. If you have FL Cloud Plus or Pro, you sign in and get the same library as on desktop: more than two million sounds you can search by genre, tags and curated collections. Previews stream, so only what you actually use in your track ends up on your phone. That saves storage. Want to try it first? You can start a free FL Cloud trial inside the app.
Portrait mode
The app now rotates when you hold your phone upright. Don't like that? Lock the orientation in the settings.
A new look
The Playlist, the editors, the Channel Rack and the transport bar were redesigned to be easier to read. There's also a zoomed out overview, faster split screen editing, interface scaling without a restart and a reduced animations mode.
Small things that save a lot of time
- Drag and drop: pull files in from the Browser, your file manager or other apps. On Android, you can also drag files out to other apps.
- Mouse and keyboard: the spacebar stops previews, and there are more shortcuts, tab navigation and hover hints.
- Paste preview: see where pasted notes or clips will land before you actually paste them.
- Burn Notes to Track: turn what the Arpeggiator, Scale, Transpose, Note Echo or Randomizer creates into regular notes you can edit yourself.
- Smart Solo: solo a channel and its sends come along. Unsolo all resets everything in one tap.
- Presets: preview drumsets before loading them and add instrument presets from the module picker.

What does this mean for you?
Your phone becomes a real sketchpad
The real win is those sounds. Where you used to get bored of the stock kits fast, you now have way more drums, loops and one shots on hand, even without an account. An idea that hits you on the bus or during a break gets built out right away instead of ending up in a voice memo you forget about.
Burn Notes to Track is gold for melodies
Let the Arpeggiator or the Randomizer come up with something. Hear a part that works? Burn it to notes and then clean it up yourself. That way you keep happy accidents without playing everything in again. No idea which chords to put under it? Grab a progression that fits your vibe in the free chord progression generator and play it in.
Check the tempo and key of your samples
More sounds also means more chance that a loop isn't quite in your key. Not sure about the BPM or key of a sample or beat? Run it through Beat Lab, our free BPM and key finder with a pitch shifter.
Rapper or singer? Start with a beat
If you mostly write, you don't have to build everything yourself. Pick a beat from our beats and use your phone to capture flows and hooks. Ready for the real recording on your computer? Our type vocal presets for FL Studio and Logic Pro give your vocal chain a strong starting point.
