How to speed up or slow down a song

  1. Choose your track. Drop a WAV, MP3, M4A or FLAC file in the box, or try the demo.
  2. Move the Speed slider. Anything from 0.60× to 1.40× works. You hear it right away while the track plays.
  3. Download. You get a free WAV file, with the speed you picked in the file name.

What happens to the pitch?

This tool works like a record or a tape: faster also means higher, slower also means lower. That is exactly the sound of slowed and sped up versions. Here is what it means for a 120 BPM song:

SpeedPitch120 BPM becomes
0.75×5 semitones lower90 BPM
0.80×almost 4 semitones lower96 BPM
0.90×almost 2 semitones lower108 BPM
1.10×just over 1.5 semitones higher132 BPM
1.25×almost 4 semitones higher150 BPM
1.40×almost 6 semitones higher168 BPM

Want to change only the pitch and keep the tempo? Use the pitch shifter in Beat Lab, where you can also measure the tempo and key of your song. Want to change the tempo without the pitch moving? Then you need time stretching, for example in your DAW.
